Sally Strong Saculla (HHS 59) has lost her husband, Frank Saculla (HHS 57.) I'm sure that everyone remembers Frank, and those of us who were at the recent 58 reunion were lucky to see him again shortly before this obviously unexpected tragic event. This is the obituary that appears on-line today: Frank C. Saculla, age 66, of Griffith, IN passed away Thursday, November 11, 2004. Born in Chicago Heights, IL, the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Saculla, he is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sally; daughters: Beth (Michael) Wimmer, Amy, and Jennifer Saculla; sons: Scott and Charles Saculla; granddaughters Emily and Megan Wimmer; sisters: Frances (Wally) Demith and Julia (Ted) Walsh; brothers Marino (diane) Saculla; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. Preceded in dearh by his granddaughter, Alyssa Wimmer. Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 8955 Columbia Avenue, Munster, IN, with the Re3verand Richard Rogers officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Avenue, Munster, IN. Frank was a graudate of Hammond High School, class of 1957, Purdue University, class of 1965, and received a Masters degree at Indiana University. Member of Hammond Sports Hall of Fame, Purdue Alumni Association, and Izaak Walton League. Former director of the Parks and Recreation Department for the city of Hammond, retired from Scott Lad Foods, he was currently employed at Purdue University Calumet Fitness Center. He served with the U.S. Army in the Far East. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family to establish a scholarship in Frank's memory would be appreciated. Sally's address is in the address list on this website. |

The 45th reunion of the Class of 59 was a resounding success, in the view of everyone I talked to. Loved the pizza party at John's; the lovely gathering at newlyweds Rich Barnes' and Carol Salzynski Barnes' beautiful new Miller home in Gary--particularly the MaidRite's hamburgers, made with love and what HAD to be the real recipe: the dinner dance; and the brunch. I'm looking forward to getting the videotape and sharing the memories of those I didn't get to talk to. |

I had Ann Noldin ask if any one else had been tatooed with their blood types (Kay & I have NEVER found anyone from other areas who have this feature!)! Perhaps other classes of HHS during the 50's had this done too? We are very satisfied with our being "Eighters from Decatur, county seat of Wise (of course it's in Texas!)" because we now consider ourselves Texans (we got here as fast as we could!)! Even though we are both "only children" we have four (two sons and two daughters), eleven grandchildren (seven boys and two with the Polone name), two great-grandchildren (a boy and a girl) and they all live near us (now) in Texas! |

I have been in Anderson, Indiana for the past 35 years. After reading, on this great web site, about what some of you have achieved, I'm a little embarrassed to report on my activities for the past 45 years. Graduated from I.U. in 1963 and Butler in 1965. Taught school for a few years while my husband was in law school. Retired in 1969 to become a mom. Now I play a little golf and a lot of bridge. Because there are no duplicate games in Anderson, I spend a lot of time on I-69 going to Indianapolis for bridge. For many years, I played in tournaments all over the country, but we are currently building a new home in Noblesville, Indiana (crazy, at this age)so that is my current obsession. I will probably miss the reunion, as we hope to be in the midst of moving in early October, but I would love to hear from anyone who has the time. |

(Can you tell I'm a high school teacher? I may never grow up!!) This is great!! Is someone going to create a website for the class of '60? I've lived in San Diego since 1969 except for 5 years in Hawaii. I went to the reunion in 2000, and would love to hear from anyone who was at HHS from '58 to '60. Tim Berg, Jim Wilkerson, John Tropsic are you still around? "Phone home"! I'd love to hear from you!! Carol (Romanski) Klett San Diego xwhoshur@hotmail.com |

As best I know, the last reunion was the 25th. It is fun to see who has registered with Classmates.com. I sell for IBM in the San Francisco area, and we live in the South Bay in Los Gatos, CA. I suspect that there aren't too many HHS grads around here. HHS seems far away, although I was able to see a bit of Hammond in May 2002 when we were back in Indiana for my nephew's wedding. A suggestion for Rich Barnes -- why not have a multi-year reunion covering '57-'60? Hammond, maybe the Civic Center, would have to be the site so that those of us who no longer have ties there can visit old haunts. |

My web site has not been updated for a long, long time, but I am going to attack that chore with "Great Vigor" one of these days. Looking forward to the 2004 class reunion Terry Lovell has been describing. Really enjoyed hearing from him and all the active work he has done keeping track of so many of us. Hope many can make it back to "Da Region" for the event. Much success to your new web site. Thanks again for your stellular efforts. Will be checking back frequently to see who has "been found." |
